Administrative halls
Administrative halls are the most prestigious and the most imaginative architectural buildings among prefabricated halls. The building is designed with multiple floors, and the core of each building is a central staircase with an atrium. The reception is often located in this area.
Main Advantages of Prefabricated Administrative Halls
- Speed of construction and the associated cost compared to traditional masonry buildings
- Excellent thermal properties of the buildings with low operating costs
- Architecturally imaginative materials combining steel and glass
- Low costs for building foundations compared to traditional buildings
Construction of Administrative Halls
The construction of these types of prefabricated halls is designed so that the structures are exposed only for architectural reasons; otherwise, the structures are hidden behind plasterboard cladding or reinforced concrete columns covered with plaster. Ceiling steel structures are designed with beams and girders, complemented by trapezoidal sheet metal, which serves as permanent formwork, and a load-bearing reinforced concrete slab is poured onto this sheet.
Insulation of Administrative Halls
Cladding of warehouse halls is solved in many ways, depending on the architectural element chosen by the designer. The basis is usually sandwich panels made of mineral boards or PIR infill. Roofs are mostly assembled from foils. Most administrative buildings have a parapet.
The walls can be complemented with many design elements:
- Alubond panels
- Design panels, e.g. Benchmark by Kingspan
- Corrugated sheets, etc.
Glazing and Daylighting
Administrative buildings are often glazed at the central entrance with system glass façade elements, which form the dominant feature of the building. The entrance is made with aluminium doors, often sliding and automatic. Daylighting is provided by standard windows made of plastic or aluminium, with the shape and size designed by the architect. In exceptional cases, the central staircase, meeting rooms, or kitchenettes are illuminated by the roof structure, using aluminium skylights or dome skylights with the option of opening.
Layout of Administrative Halls
The classic layout is an entrance with a canopy or a design element. Behind the entrance follows the staircase and central hall. The arrangement of offices depends on the type of company—commercial companies have a different layout than manufacturing ones. Administration is often connected to a warehouse or production hall.
Surfaces of Administrative Halls
Surfaces in administrative buildings are the same as in traditional masonry buildings; tiles, linoleum, vinyl floors, carpets, or floating wooden floors are often chosen.
