Sliding gate

Sliding doors are a type of industrial door that move along rails alongside the wall of a prefabricated hall. Sliding doors consist of two main parts: the door leaf and the drive unit. The door leaf is made of sandwich panels approximately 40 mm thick, which consist of two steel sheets with thermally insulating polyurethane foam in between. For hangar doors, polystyrene is most commonly used due to the weight of the sections, while for sliding gravity doors, non-combustible mineral wool is most often used. The door leaf can be customized in various colors and patterns according to the customer’s wishes. An electric motor, located at one end of the door leaf, moves it along the rails using a toothed belt or chain. The drive unit is controlled by a remote control or a button on the wall of the industrial hall. It is also equipped with safety features, such as an infrared beam that prevents the door from closing if there is an obstacle in the entrance, or a safety lock that prevents the door from being opened from the outside. Sliding doors are an elegant solution for automatically closing the entrance to a prefabricated hall and are an interesting alternative to traditional sectional, double-leaf, or rolling doors. Sometimes, manual doors are used.

Sliding doors have several advantages over other types of doors:

  • They save space under the ceiling of the prefabricated hall, which can be used for storage or lighting installation.
  • They allow partial opening of the door for convenient passage of people or smaller vehicles without the need to open the entire door.
  • They are suitable for halls with irregular shapes or low ceilings, where other doors could not be installed.
  • They are quiet and reliable, as they have no moving parts such as springs or lifting mechanisms.

Types of sliding doors:

Sliding Cold Room Doors

Sliding cold room doors or gates for cold storage halls or warehouses are an important element in industrial and commercial spaces where it is necessary to maintain a constant temperature and ensure insulation between the cooling and surrounding areas. These doors allow easy access to cold rooms or storage areas without significant loss of cold air.

Here are some key aspects regarding sliding cold room doors for halls:

  • insulation and sealing,
  • control and safety,
  • design and dimensions,
  • installation.

Insulation and Sealing

Sliding cold room doors should be made from materials with high insulating properties to minimize heat transfer between the cooled space and the surrounding environment. This helps maintain a constant temperature and reduces energy consumption. It is important that the doors have effective sealing to minimize air and cold leakage. This ensures that the cooling system operates efficiently and prevents excessive energy loss.

Control and Safety

Modern sliding cold room doors can be equipped with various control systems, such as remote control, automatic sensors, or manual operation. This allows convenient and safe access to the cooling areas. Safety is a key factor. Sliding doors have mechanisms to stop when they encounter an obstacle, minimizing the risk of injury or damage.

Mechanical Durability and Maintenance

Sliding cold room doors should be resistant to moisture and low temperatures. This ensures long service life and reliability. Easy maintenance is also important. The doors should be designed for easy cleaning and to be kept in good condition.

Design and Dimensions

The design of the doors can also be important, especially in commercial environments. Modern cold room doors can offer various styles and surface finishes. It is important to choose the appropriate door dimensions according to operational needs. The doors should be wide and high enough to allow easy movement of pallets, carts, and other materials.

Installation

The installation of sliding cold room doors is a demanding process that requires professional knowledge and skills. Proper installation ensures correct functionality of the doors and minimizes potential problems. When selecting and installing sliding cold room doors, it is important to work with experts who have experience with this type of equipment. That is why our company uses only proven suppliers.
